Mr. Emolo has over 25 years experience working in the field of traffic accident reconstruction. Prior to forming his partnership with his colleagues, John C. Scott and John G. Karpovich, he studied municipal engineering technology at Newark College of Engineering and was employed by the Township of Wayne, Wayne, New Jersey, where he was employed as the supervisor of the engineering department’s graphic arts design section. Mr. Emolo’s schooling in municipal engineering technology and land surveying enabled him to apply his skills to the field of accident reconstruction. In addition, while employed by the Township of Wayne, he worked directly with the Wayne Police Traffic Bureau, where he assisted in the measuring and mapping of roadways to assist them in their investigations of their serious and fatal motor vehicle accidents. Mr. Emolo worked for Suhaka-Desch Associates, a private accident reconstruction firm for several years before joining his former firm, John Desch Associates as the senior reconstructionist where he served as the office manager/director of operations.
Mr. Emolo has been directly involved in the investigation and/or analysis of over 5,000 reconstruction case files. He received his specialized training in accident reconstruction at Northwestern University’s Traffic Institute, the University of North Florida’s Institute of Police Technology and Management and Texas A & M University. Some of his specialties include on-site evidence and vehicle crush profile documentation utilizing electronic instrument measuring equipment and dynamic pedestrian conspicuity testing. Mr. Emolo has participated in over 500 on-site pedestrian visibility tests in conjunction with various case studies. Mr. Emolo has lectured at various nationwide trucking and insurance companies, as well as for police officers at the Bergen County Police Academy in the area of at-scene evidence collection and documentation. He has been qualified as an expert in traffic accident reconstruction and has provided expert testimony in Municipal, Superior, Supreme and Federal Courts in the States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Mr. Emolo has been fully certified by the accreditation commission for traffic accident reconstructions (ACTAR) as an accident reconstructionist since 1994 and has appeared as an expert commentator in the field for Court TV.
Mr. Emolo has been married for approximately 38 years and has two children, a granddaughter and a grandson. In addition to enjoying time with his family, he is an avid, high handicap golfer and an amateur vintner.
