Accident Scene Immediate Response: SKE is very familiar with the importance of the client’s need to have a team of qualified experts ready to respond to a catastrophic loss at a moments notice. With the experience and knowledge of the procedures regarding the procurement of roadway evidence, event data recorders and vehicle damage, SKE can provide a professional and prompt response to the meet the needs of their clients.

SKE is committed to their clients for ease of accessibility by providing cell phone numbers and the convenience of an advanced automated telecommunication system that will track 24 hour accessibility directly to the Partners.
Accelerometer Testing: SKE utilizes the Vericom VC-4000™ onboard accelerometer system. This accelerometer is the current state-of-the-art equipment used in the field of collision reconstruction and provides valuable data such as tri-axial g-forces as well as acceleration and deceleration data. This instrument also allows the comparison of internal data and records integrated vehicle data via its diagnostic port. Additionally the VC-4000™ is GPS equipped enabling the confirmation of test site locations and vehicle speeds.
Commercial Vehicle Engine Control Module Data Extraction: SKE is equipped with the latest version of the Detroit Diesel and Cummins engine software and is capable of extracting data on compatible commercial vehicles equipped with engine control modules (ECMs). These tools can provide an evaluation of engine fault codes and factory set parameters on commercial vehicles. A commercial vehicle ECM is commonly referred to as the “black box” because of its ability to store data that could be related to a collision event.
Crash Data Retrieval: All of the Partners of SKE are certified in the imaging of data with the latest version of the Bosch/Vetronics Crash Data Retrieval System (CDR). Data related to a collision event may reside in the vehicle’s airbag control module or vehicle’s power train control module. This “black box” data should only be accessed by a trained reconstructionist as it can provide critical crash data such as the vehicle’s speed prior to the collision, occupants use of restraints and brake switch and accelerator position. Delta-v or Low Speed Collision Assessments: SKE has trained staff, access to crash data and sophisticated computer software programs that provide the client with an analysis of the collision severity and forces exchanged between vehicles. This type of analysis is required in injury mitigation assignments.
Forensic Mapping: SKE provides electronic mapping services for a wide variety of uses from evidence documentation to courtroom demonstrative evidence. SKE has certified professionals that are trained on the latest technologies in Sokkia long range reflectorless instruments and data collectors.
HVE-2D EDCRASH™ and EDSMAC Analysis: SKE has been trained in the use of the Engineering Dynamics Corporation software EDCRASH™ and EDSMAC™. The EDCRASH™ program is a highly developed and validated reconstruction program that enables an accurate assessment of documented vehicle damage crush profile and quantifies the speed (energy) required to create such damage. The EDCRASH™ program can also take accident scene data and calculate vehicle impact speeds. The EDSMAC™ program is a simulated program used to predict the “best fit” crash scenario by entering a series of known crash parameters. EDSMAC™ has also been validated and best used as a “what-if” tool in the reconstruction profession.
Mechanical Inspections of Vehicles: SKE staffs a certified master mechanic from ASE (Automotive Service of Excellence) to conduct mechanical inspections of passenger automobiles as well as commercial heavy vehicles. Issues are often raised as to the maintenance or condition of vehicle(s) or if a mechanical defect had a contributory causation of a collision event. Our mechanical expert will be able to address your issues and concerns.

Premises Liability: SKE staffs a professional engineer (P.E.) who was the Army Corps of Engineers deputy chief of construction for the state of New York. This experience and expertise is essential in the analysis of premises liability issues where slip/trip and falls are in litigation.
Presentations and Seminars: The staff at SKE is experienced in presenting a wide variety of topics in the accident reconstruction field to law firms, insurance companies and private industry professionals. Contact us to discuss how SKE can provide an informative presentation to fit your needs.

Photography: SKE has trained staff and professional digital SLR cameras which provide the client with high quality digital images of an accident locale or premises liability claim as well as vehicle damage documentation.

Videography: SKE has specialized equipment including a broadcast quality professional video camera that will allow an accurate representation of the prevailing conditions, even during dark lighting (nighttime) conditions. In addition, SKE has a micro cam that can be attached to a motorcyclist’s or bicyclist’s helmet as well as a pedestrian or drivers head to gain a realistic prospective point of view.
